Abundant Gardens
Bringing Gardens To Life
You are a creative person who wants to bring more beauty to your patch of land. You’re aware of the plight of wildlife and you want to help. You’ve heard about the benefits to your wellbeing of having your fingers in the earth and being surrounded by plants and wildlife. You also know the importance of eating healthy food and would like to grow some of your own. You know this can happen in your garden but are unsure where to start
You dream of a garden that:
- hums with life, bursts with colour and fills your senses with smells, sights and sounds.
- you enjoy being in and feel confident about what needs doing and how to do it.
- is beautiful and supports an array of life.
- brings a smile to your face whenever you think about it, knowing that you helped shape it.
- you can gather a delicious harvest from.
Yet, currently, you:
- feel overwhelm when it comes to your garden.
- see a green blur of plants, making you unsure of what to keep and what to weed out.
- envisage jobs that need doing and are you not sure where to start.
- want your garden to be able to support as much wildlife as possible but don’t know how.
- long to have a greater sense of relationship with your garden.
I can help:I’m Ross and I have been bringing gardens to life for over 10 years. I can share my experience with you so that you can have a garden that is beautiful, vibrant, productive and full of life. I will help you change your relationship with your garden from a place of overwhelm to one of joyful engagement.
I set up Abundant Gardens after reading that if all the gardens in the UK were put together it would cover an area greater than all national nature reserves combined. That means our gardens are filled with potential. My aim is to see as many gardens supporting as much wildlife as possible.
Add your garden to the growing patchwork of gardens doing just that! I offer consistent, seasonal, year round support. I have a number of different services to help you, from my Abundant Gardens Consultation to maintenance and courses. The starting point for most people is the consultation. Living Willow Structures
“Ross has our garden from an abandoned over grown patch of earth, to a naturally managed peaceful Eden for us to enjoy. We respect his approach to the land, how he works with it, to encourage local plants to thrive and always taking into consideration the wildlife and the seasons. Using his hands instead of machines gives the whole space a much softer appearance that feels loved rather than manicured.“

Ross has been working with us for about six months now and has already had a big impact on our unruly garden! Our small orchard is now full of new local trees and the grass beneath them, having been scythed by Ross in the autumn, has come out of the winter in the best condition ever, plus the trees have been protected from close growth by the cuttings laid around them.

Ross has been working with the 4 acres here over the last 18 months. He has supported me in moving from a place of overwhelm into a place of delight and engagement. He has a great ability to listen – not only to the land and what is wanting to unfold; but also to himself and his own inherent ability to be in dialogue. i have felt hugely supported not only by his integrity and his ability to put in a good days work but also his willingness to walk calmly alongside me in a process.

Scything Courses
The scythe is an effective and versatile tool to use in the garden. Whilst known for cutting grass, it will also cut through brambles, rushes, weeds and small scrub. Scything is enjoyable and low impact which means that it is open to all age ranges.
For me scything is about more than just cutting grass it is about developing a relationship with the land. I am much more aware without the need for protective equipment and noisy engines that you need with other tools. This way a meadow truly comes to life!
